GLOBAL EXPERIENCE
Caribbean
Consultants working with Merganser and its predecessor organisations have particularly strong experience of working in Caribbean countries.This experience has included teacher and school principal development; management consultancy for Education Ministries; support for development and evaluation of teacher training, and many other contributions to the development of education. In addition a number of short professional experiences for UK teachers (under the Department for Children Schools and Families programme) have been jointly developed with Caribbean professional colleagues. These have included visits to Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Guadeloupe, St Kitts and Nevis, Jamaica and St Lucia.
Education consultancy work at a range of levels has been delivered in Antigua, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Martinique, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.
In Jamaica, consultants from Merganser have been significantly involved for several years. Most recently we are main strategic education partners with PA Consulting in a major programme for modernization of the Ministry of Education. We have now completed the inception phase of this and have developed detailed recommendations for the development of Regional Education Agencies, an Inspection Service, a Curriculum and Assessment Agency and a Teacher Development Agency. These plans are now being implemented.
