The following colleagues work closely with us on a regular basis:

Louise Bonadie

Louise Bonadie is International Education Consultant for Bath and North East Somerset Local Authority. She is seconded to Merganser on a part time basis, where she has a major role in supporting the development of international destinations for Teachers International Professional Development. Louise has particular expertise in primary education and language development. She has worked in the UK and on various assignments in many overseas countries.


Roy Jones

Roy Jones has had a distinguished career in schools (as a headteacher), in teacher training and in Local Authorities where his most recent post was as a Director of Education. Since then he has played major roles in local authority management for education providers, and was a founding Director of Best Practice Network. For Merganser he manages a number of overseas destinations for TIPD, mainly - but not exclusively - in North America and Scandinavia.


Dr Julian Laite

Dr Julian Laite specialises in public sector reform, organisational development and in all aspects of public finance and the monitoring and control of public expenditure. He has provided consultancy advice on these issues for 15 years. He has a PhD from Manchester University on international development and was a Senior Lecturer at Manchester University, lecturing on international development. Following this, Julian became a senior official at HM Treasury, where he worked for 8 years. Julian became a Managing Consultant with KPMG in 1994 and since then has been advising DFID, the World Bank, USAID and the IADB on international assignments in Africa, South East Europe, South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.


Ian Pratt

Ian Pratt has considerable experience in school improvement as an advisor, lead inspector and Local Authority Head of School Improvement. He has managed the OFSTED contract for a major UK provider, and has also undertaken considerable work in the Caribbean in the field of development of inspection services. Within Merganser his main role is in business development.


Alyson Kennea

Alyson Kennea is Administrative Officer based in our Bristol office. She has considerable commercial and management experience, and is responsible for aspects of the TIPD programme. Alyson has taught at post 16 level, is a primary school lead governor and has travelled widely.


Catrin Taylor

Catrin Taylor is Administrative Manager based in our Bristol office. Catrin has had overall responsibility for managing the administration of the TIPD programme since 2006, first for Best Practice Network and then for HTI Merganser. She has a strong administrative management background and extensive experience of international travel.
